The win was the Rockets’ ninth-consecutive overall, the longest active streak in the NBA and matching the Rockets’ longest since the 1998-99 season. They haven’t have had a longer streak since 1993-94, the first championship season. The past seven opponents failed to score 90, moving within one game of the Rockets longest run ever holding opponents to fewer than 90 points. “I don’t think we get as much hype about our defense as we did last year, but we think we’re a pretty solid defensive team,” said Rockets forward Shane Battier after keeping James under control most of the night. “When we clamp in and concentrate, we can do some really nice things on defense.” James finished with 26 points with 13 rebounds and 11 rebounds. But he made just 7 of 18 shots, even with consecutive 3s in the final minutes after the Rockets led by 16. He was 0 for 7 in the first half. Even with their late flurry of scoring, the Cavaliers made just 37.5 percent of their shots. For most of the night, however, the Rockets were not much better. Tracy McGrady had 17 points, adding eight assists. Yao Ming had 16 with 14 rebounds. But McGrady combined to make 9 of 38 shots. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Rockets were making 39 percent of their shots and going against the team with the most fourth-quarter comebacks in the NBA this season, and with the leading fourth-quarter scorer. That’s when the Rockets took over and were never challenged again. “What we’re developing on this team is a team like the Pistons,” McGrady said. “Great defensive team, going out there, playing together and not really relying on one of two people to score the rock. What we really care about is playing great defense and just playing together and it showed.” Actually, the Rockets did rely on one scorer, but it was not their All-Star or former All-Star. Rafer Alston made 8 of 15 shots, leading the Rockets with 22 points and adding six assists. In the winning streak, he has averaged 15 points on 43.6 percent shooting, and 7.3 assists. “I have some unbelievable teammates because they understand I’m in a rhythm in this stretch of games and they encourage me to continue to shoot the ball,” Alston said. “It helps to have two superstars that draw so much attention that I’m wide open. In years past I’ve been inconsistent in helping them out by consistently knocking down the shot. I’m knocking them down consistently in this stretch of wins.” The Cavaliers sent double teams to Yao and crowded the lane on McGrady. That was nothing new. But rarely have the Rockets needed Alston – and the boost they got from Luis Scola and Carl Landry combining for 23 points with 14 rebounds – more than Tuesday. “Rafer’s playing unbelievable,” said McGrady, who has made 23 of 73 shots in his past five games. “With my offense now, I’m struggling. I’m struggling with my shot. I don’t know what’s going on with me offensively. With Rafer playing so well and other guys playing so well, it’s really a great feeling to have all the pressure on you offensively. I suck right now. I get it going every now and then, but through the course of the game, I suck.” He did get a brief surge late in the third quarter, scoring the Rockets final six points to head into the fourth with a seven-point lead. Landry played all but 27 seconds of the fourth quarter, scoring six of his 13 points and getting three of his seven rebounds. "We got different guys at my position that can play at any time," Landry said. "Luis Scola is a great player, as you can see. Chuck Hayes is one of the best defenders in this league. Fortunately, I was called upon to finish this game. "I feel like I'm growing. (Monday), I felt like I grew. Every film session, every practice, with the guys on this team, the veterans, the coaching staff, I'm growing. By coach putting me out there, I felt I got a little bit better as a player." Winning habit The Rockets have won eight of nine games and 13 of 16, but most have been decided in the final minutes. Rockets' missteps along the way often made the games tighter than they should have been.
But after blowing a 10-point, fourth-quarter lead before pulling out Monday's win in Minneapolis, they said getting the wins one way or another can lead to more victories. "I think winning becomes a habit," Shane Battier said, "if you can get that mind-frame that 'we haven't played our best, but if we can turn it up here, we can pull this game out.' "We know how good we are on the road. At home is what we have to take care of. That's what we need to really focus in on. We know we have great confidence playing on the road. We're real comfortable playing on the road. We know we can win in any building. The way we played on the road, that same focus, let's do that at home." The Rockets' previous seven-game winning streak came in the playoffs during the 1995 championship run. But this streak, the players said, could be an important part of getting back to the playoffs. "Whenever you win eight straight on the road, whether you're playing the best team or the worst team, road wins are key to your pursuit of trying to make the playoffs," Rockets guard Rafer Alston said. The industry has gone from $9.6 billion in revenue in 2001 to $27 billion this year, according to Piper Jaffray, an investment bank. And it is still early days. The internet accounts for only 5% of total spending on advertising, but that figure is expected to reach at least 20% in the next few years. (1)The single largest category within this flourishing industry, accounting for nearly half of all spending, is “pay-per-click” advertising, which is used by firms both large and small to promote their wares.
It works like this. Advertisers bid on keywords that they believe potential customers will be interested in. This enables internet firms such as Google, the market leader, and Yahoo!, its smaller rival, to display advertisements alongside the results of internet searches. Somebody searching for a particular type of wine, for example, might see advertisements from wine merchants. Google, Yahoo! and other firms also place ads on affiliates' websites—so wine merchants' advertisements might also appear on a wine-appreciation site. The advertiser pays only when a consumer clicks on an ad; the owner of the website where the ad was displayed then receives a small commission[1]. The benefits of the pay-per-click approach over traditional advertising (television, radio, print and billboards) are obvious. (2)Since advertisers pay only to reach the small subset who actually respond to an advertisement, the quality of the leads generated is very high, and advertisers are prepared to pay accordingly. The price per click varies from $0.10 to as much as $30, depending on the keyword, though the average is around $0.50. “Mesothelioma[2]”, for instance, the name of an asbestos-related illness, is an especially valuable keyword, because lawyers are prepared to pay a lot to make contact with sufferers in the hope of representing them in a lucrative compensation lawsuit. Google made most of its $6.1 billion in revenue last year from pay-per-click advertising. (3)But as pay-per-click advertising has grown into a huge industry, concern has mounted over so-called “click fraud”—bogus[3] clicks that do not come from genuinely interested customers. It takes two main forms. If you click repeatedly on the advertisements on your own website, or get other people or machines to do so on your behalf, you can generate a stream of bogus commissions. Click fraud can also be used by one company against another: clicking on a rival firm's advertisements can saddle it with a huge bill. Bogus clicks are thought to account for around 10% of all click traffic, though nobody knows for sure. Bill Gross, the entrepreneur who pioneered the pay-per-click model back in 1998, was aware of the problem even then. (Yahoo! subsequently acquired his firm, known at the time as Overture.) He installed a three-layered defence system: a filter to weed out clicks from known fraudsters at the outset, statisticians and software to spot suspicious click patterns, and co-operation with advertisers to enable them to analyse the leads generated and sound the alarm if necessary. But generally the industry adopted a rather cavalier[4] attitude to click fraud.(4)Eric Schmidt, the boss of Google, caused uproar a few months ago when he seemed to suggest that the “perfect economic solution” to click fraud was to “let it happen”. He was responding to a theoretical question during a debate at Stanford University, but his response reinforced the perception that Google had higher priorities than addressing the problem. Such a flippant[5] attitude has not gone down well with advertisers, who are up in arms about the problem. Some have even resorted to legal action. Google reached a settlement in March with Lane's Gifts and Collectibles, a gift shop based in Arkansas, and agreed to offer refunds to advertisers who claim they have been charged for bogus clicks. Such refunds are capped at $90m, however, so many observers think Google got off lightly[6]. And in June Yahoo! promised to intensify its efforts to fight click fraud as part of a settlement with CheckMate, a fraud-detection firm. As well as offering refunds for clicks determined to be fraudulent, Yahoo! agreed to appoint a “traffic-quality advocate” to voice advertisers' concerns within the company. In the wake of these legal challenges, Google and Yahoo! recently joined a working group at the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), a trade association, which will establish standards for pay-per-click advertising, including the introduction of industry-funded auditing and certification, by the middle of 2007. “I believe Google and Yahoo! are now taking the issue very seriously,” says David Jones, chief executive of Euro RSCG, an advertising company. But Rishad Tobaccowala, head of innovation at Publicis, one of the world's biggest advertising groups, says it is too early to say whether the measures being taken against click fraud will be enough to satisfy advertisers. A few months ago Mr Gross pioneered an alternative to the pay-per-click model. (6)In February Snap, a search engine backed by Mr Gross, launched “pay-per-action”, a new model in which advertisers pay only if a click on an ad is followed by an action such as a purchase or a download. Google is testing a similar model and Turn.com, another ad network, adopted the pay-per-action model a few weeks ago. Might this put an end to click fraud? Don't bet on it, says Mike Zeman at Starcom, an advertising agency. Pay-per-action will be a niche, he predicts, since converting a click into an action depends on a variety of factors such as the ease of use of the advertiser's website. Google and its peers will be reluctant to be so dependent on factors outside their control. But Mr Tobaccowala thinks pay-per-action could become a real alternative to pay-per-click. As bigger companies spend more on internet advertising, they will demand more accountability and a wider range of options, he says. (7)At the very least, that means clamping down on click fraud; but it also presents an opportunity for entrepreneurs to invent new models that are less vulnerable to abuse. 7月30日 “打劫?”令人诧异的东莞公交车收费~~好久没有去挤公交车了,自从上了高中在全封闭的学校里后,已经很少挤着公交车去市区到处转了,上了大学后更是少搭公交车了,今天,老爸出去旅游了,在我几个表弟的强烈要求下,我还是答应带他们去市区逛逛....前前后后一共5个人,这一去不要紧,这个公交车费用简直是让人大吃一惊!我们五个人,做了大概半个小时的车,中间只转了一次车,来回五个人居然要了我60元!! 平均居然一个人来回要十多元......我还没怎么做昵,只是中途转了一次车.....上车居然最少要4元一个! 我不知道其他地方是什么样子,我只知道在长沙,广州,成都,等省会城市,公交车1元基本随便坐! 几年没做公交车,费用简直是翻了好几翻,我特别留意了一些车上一些坐车坐得比较少的或者是第一次坐东莞公交车的人,基本每个人都是听到后会重复一句:“&%¥元?!”然后就垂头丧气坐下来.... 不仅想东莞如此做法是否合理。众所周知,东莞是全国民工集中的地方之一,一个普通民工一个月也就600~1200左右,如果一个礼拜坐3次公交车(应该算合理吧)一个礼拜来回最少也得24元~一个月就得96元!如果稍微坐得远点,或者周末多转一下,一个月公交车花费绝对要超过100元~~!这绝对是个很夸张的数字~~想想我在成都读书读了两年了,总共坐公交车才花了几十块而已~~而在东莞一个月公交车费居然要100~~ 诧异~~~ 很难想象东莞的公交车售票员工资多少了,难道也像中国电力系统那样一个抄表工年薪十万?! 7月29日 暑假日程流水帐~(老婆明鉴~)鉴于老婆最近对我的行踪有疑问,于是特贴出此流水帐,往老婆明鉴...... 流水帐: 每天早上九点多起来,似乎心情都不错,于是练会字吧,(这个暑假最大的收获:爱上练字了,主要是我的字太丑了:)一不小心就到了十一点左右,天气比较热,于是练练哑铃,做做深蹲吧~出出汗.... 吃饭了..... 中午大好时间睡觉太浪费了,上网打会游戏吧..... 4点左右.... 有点累了.....还是睡会觉吧... 5.30.... 睡醒了,精神足了,有人喊了....打球去了!.... 8.30回来,累死了.... 洗个澡,吃个饭..... 九点多了,心情舒畅啊,再练会字吧..... 晚上了,上网的大好时间啊.... 睡觉.......发信息..... 7月24日 水上乐园~水叮当永远不学游泳,这是我以前的一贯原则~

这是我昨天下午去我家附近的一个叫水叮当温泉水上乐园游玩后得出的总结!
(刚才好不容易打了一页的字,结果不小心按错了,只剩下上面的话了,郁闷死了~)
PS:期待着和我老婆一起去泡温泉,蒸桑拿.....嘻嘻~再也不往成人区游泳池跳了,差点没呛死:( |
